So, I have to make a confession here. I am not a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. I’ve tried. I’ve played multiple games in the series (Sonic 2 is pretty good). I’ve given the franchise multiple chances. Sonic just doesn’t click with me. I think it has to do with my desire to explore levels whereas Sonic is, quite obviously, about going fast and reacting. Up until about a week ago, I had only finished one Sonic game, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the Gamecube. That’s now changed as, in the past week, I picked up Sonic Forces and finished only my second Sonic the Hedgehog game.
The Set-up:
You are Sonic the Hedgehog. The blue blur. Having already foiled the plans of your arch-rival, Dr. Eggman, multiple times, it’s no surprise when Tails informs you that the good Dr. is attacking a local city…again. As per the norm, you set off to foil him for yet another time. Just for the record, Dr. Eggman is the name they go with in Sonic Forces, but I will always prefer Robotnik. While I may not be a fan of Sonic games, I was a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon (1993-1994), which used the Dr. Robotnik name. Also, Jaleel White was a fantastic Sonic.
